FARM BLOG:  Titled “Animal Escapades”, this blog started out to record stories about our animals and their antics on the farm, especially when they weren't where we had put them the night before ... as in "escape". Over time the blog has become more a record of the seasonality of things we do, daily challenges, and the neighbors who have come to our aid.

U-LATCH:  You can't live on an old farm without becoming frustrated about the way things work, or don't. Between the baling twine and our “Houdini” horse, Tater, our livestock gates were too hard for us to open, and too easy for him, so we designed a gate latch to make life a little easier (... for us. Tater, is still trying to figure a way to free himself and the rest of the livestock.) It's on the market in feed stores around the country! Take a look ... you just might find you could use one!

BEACH RETREAT, NEWPORT, OR: Continue down Hwy 34 to the Pacific Coast, where you can stay in our seaside vacation retreat. Watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean from our deck, walk along sandy beaches, eat fresh Dungeness crab, visit the Rogue Brewery. Nothing like a little salt in the air and sand in the shoes!
