FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many cabins do you have?
We just have the one cabin with two bedrooms and one bath. It works well
for families, couples, friends, or individuals. We would never book
two separate parties who didn’t know each other.
How far are you from 'civilization'?
Our farm is off Hwy 34 that runs east-west from the Pacific Ocean to
the Cascades. The town of Alsea is three miles from our farm and has
a general store and gas station. Corvallis is 25 miles (35 minutes)
away. Eugene is an hour's drive. Portland is two hours drive door-to-door.
There is a part of the drive from Corvallis to Alsea affectionately
called the "curvies" by locals. This is 2-1/2 miles of sharp
turns as you ascend over Mary's Peak pass from the Willamette Valley
into the Coast Range. Once you turn onto Honey Grove Road, do not panic
that you will be lost in the woods forever. While there are houses
at the very beginning of the road, you will go almost 2 miles without
any dwellings before reaching our farm. Past us, there are another
8 families farther up the valley!

Do you sell lamb?
We often have some lamb in the freezer
for sale. Our lambs are Katahdin and Katahdin crosses so they will
be lower in cholesterol and fat than the lamb you buy in the market.
They are also pasture raised on our property.
What fruits and vegetables grow on your property?
You may free-range at will on our farm for blueberries, raspberries,
blackberries, plums, apples, grapes, lettuce, etc., in season, to
compliment your meals. We usually have extra of all these things
and can point you in the right direction.
Do you have a barbeque?
Yes. We also have outside seating on the deck for meals as long as the
weather cooperates (little to no rain- usually- from June through September).
Are the animals friendly?
Our guests think so. Some are overly friendly if you feed them, like
Fred the peacock! Because this is a farm, it is best to approach all
animals cautiously. We have some advice listed in our Farm Rules in
the cabin.
How flexible are you with check-in and check-out times?
We are relatively flexible as long as no one is booked before or after
you. Please ask before arrival whether we can accommodate early check-in
or late check-out.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we take Visa and MasterCard.
Is there a phone?
There is no phone in the cabin, but you may use our house phone. If you
wish to use your cell phone, you will need to drive to the end of the
road or into Alsea for service!
Is there wireless access?
Yes! We have a wireless hub in our house and if you sit on the deck or
close to the windows in the living room of the cabin, you can access
our system any time day or night.
