Frequently asked questions

How many cabins do you have?
We just have the one cabin with two bedrooms and one bath. It works well for families, couples, friends, or individuals. We would never book two separate parties who didn’t know each other.

What’s the difference between Full-Service and Self-Service?
We offer two options for your stay. Full-Service includes breakfast. We supply the breakfast foods and one cooked dish you heat in the oven. We will also provide light housekeeping on request. Self-Service is just that. You provide for your own meals. If the hens are cooperating, you may purchase eggs from us. There is a general store in Alsea.

Do you sell lamb?
We often have some lamb in the freezer for sale. Our lambs are Katahdin and Katahdin crosses so they will be lower in cholesterol and fat than the lamb you buy in the market. They are also pasture raised on our property.

What fruits and vegetables grow on your property?
You may free-range at will on our farm for blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, plums, apples, grapes, lettuce, etc., in season, to compliment your meals. We usually have extra of all these things and can point you in the right direction.

Do you have a barbeque?
Yes. We also have outside seating on the deck for meals as long as the weather cooperates (little to no rain- usually- from June through September).

Are the animals friendly?
Our guests think so. Some are overly friendly if you feed them, like Fred the peacock! Because this is a farm, it is best to approach all animals cautiously. We have some advice listed in our Farm Rules in the cabin.

How flexible are you with check-in and check-out times?
We are relatively flexible as long as no one is booked before or after you. Please ask before arrival whether we can accommodate early check-in or late check-out.

Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we take Visa and MasterCard.

Is there a phone?
There is no phone in the cabin, but you may use our house phone. If you wish to use your cell phone, you will need to drive to the end of the road or into Alsea for service!

Is there wireless access?
Yes! We have a wireless hub in our house and if you sit on the deck or close to the windows in the living room of the cabin, you can access our system any time day or night.
